Samuel Hollander, LCSW

Sam Hollander, LCSW, serves as the Director of Psychotherapy at the Boston Child Study Center Maine, where he guides the clinical direction of the practice and provides evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Sam, a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Maine and Massachusetts, specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), DBT-PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Sam earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Virginia Military Institute, where he held multiple leadership positions and participated in the training and development of new cadets. Sam earned his MSW from Simmons University, where he concentrated in and holds a certification in trauma practice. He completed his clinical fellowship at the Boston Child Study Center with advanced training in evidence-based care under the supervision of Ryan Madigan, Psy.D.

Prior to his work at Boston Child Study Center, Sam spent six years at McLean Hospital’s Adolescent Residential Treatment Program, gaining intensive training in DBT and working with youth experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-injury, PTSD, and OCD. He later served as the first Clinical Educator for McLean’s 3East Boys program, contributing to the development of a DBT curriculum for young men with borderline personality disorder and co-occurring conditions.

Sam provides clinical supervision to trainees and clinicians. His clinical interests include emotion dysregulation, suicidality, self-injurious behaviors, and trauma.
