Meg Poterba is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker at the Boston Child Study Center, where she specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and executive function coaching for youth and young adults. Meg earned her B.A. from Middlebury College and her Master of Social Work degree from Boston College.
Meg began her clinical training at the McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program, working with a multidisciplinary team to stabilize children and adolescents in acute psychiatric crises. She also has experience in community-based mental health through her work at Wayside Youth and Family Support Network, where she co-led a high school peer leadership program and provided case management to help families access public assistance and social services.
In addition to her clinical practice, Meg draws on her earlier career as a middle school science teacher and more than a decade of experience as a summer camp counselor and director – roles that continue to shape how she connects with young people today. As Director of Executive Functioning Services, she integrates evidence-based interventions with a developmentally attuned, skills-focused approach to help clients build sustainable strategies that fit their lives. Meg is especially passionate about supporting individuals with ADHD – particularly those navigating the complexities of a late diagnosis – and she channels her camp director experience into designing and leading BCSC’s therapeutic summer programs.
